Wellness Policies
On June 23 and June 24, 2004, respectively, the Senate and House each unanimously passed the child nutrition reauthorization bill - Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 (Public Law 108 – 265) that was signed into law by President Bush on June 30, 2004.
This law requires that all school districts that participate in the National School Lunch Program have local wellness policies by July 1, 2006.
